On Monday, 18th December 2023, we were delighted to revive an old tradition in All Saints' - Carol singing in aid of the local St. Vincent de Paul. We all headed down to Harbour Place shopping centre first thing in the morning to sing some Christmas songs - pupils, staff (past and present!), parents, grandparents, childminders......great fun altogether! All proceeds were in aid of the local St. Vincent de Paul here in Mullingar. Indeed, some workers from the St. Vincent de Paul shop came over to hear us sing while they were on their break. We were also privileged to welcome back some former staff members of All Saints' on the day - 'Sir' with his trusty guitar (Mr. Horan, former principal) and Mrs. Sheridan (former vice principal). Carol singing in aid of St. Vincent de Paul had been a tradition in All Saints' for many a year and thousands of pounds and euros have been collected for this very worthy local charity over the years. It had been halted in more recent years due to Covid but it was a delight and a privilege to revive this special tradition. Even though we only sang for an hour approximately, we raised a whopping €330 for our efforts. Looking forward to putting this event onto our calendar for Christmas 2024.
